The subject of Israel and the church is often much neglected but where it is addressed it can be a cause of much controversy, with Bible teachers holding a wide range of opinions. These teachers can even hold diametrically opposed views in answering questions such as ‘Is the church spiritual Israel?’ and ‘Does the reestablishment of the state of Israel have any prophetic significance?’ This series of eight studies looks at the relationship between the Israel and the church, past present and future. Topics covered include: the vital role of God’s covenants, what it meant when Jesus was sent to ‘the lost sheep of the house of Israel’, the grafting in of Gentile believers to the Jewish olive tree, replacement theology, the scourge of antisemitism and the significance of the reestablishment of the state of Israel. Looking into the future, the coming great tribulation, the day of the Lord’s wrath, the return of Jesus and his messianic kingdom reign are also examined. Our understanding of these issues is going to be crucial in the days ahead.
